The blast went off in quick succession at about 8:00am today (Sunday) when the church service was midway.
The Special Task Force in Jos however says that there were no casualties.
Last week another twin blast hit a crowded Mosque and a restaurant in Jos, killing at least 44 people.
Boko Haram militants have killed nearly 200 people in a string of attacks across northern Nigeria in recent days, evidence of their continued determination to cause turmoil despite a relatively successful campaign earlier this year by troops from Nigeria and neighboring countries.
