Arsenal star Mesut Ozil pays for 11 more children to have life saving operations in Brazil;
Mesut Ozil says he wants to leave "a positive mark in Brazil" by paying for 11 children to have life saving operations.
The 26-year-old German international received the Laureas Award last year after paying for 23 Brazilian children to have life saving operations.
Ozil won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and pledged to leave a mark on the South American country by changing the lives of children in need.
Former Real Madrid man Ozil announced on Friday that he'll pay for the surgeries of 11 more Brazilian youngsters, labelled "Ozil's Eleven", where they'll undergo operations between October and November 2015 in cooperation with the children's aid programme BigShoe.
"Even one year after we won the World Cup, I want to continue to leave a positive mark in Brazil by financing eleven more children’s operations," said Özil.
"For me it’s very important that I carry on providing help for the children of Brazil."
